updating: 13 sept to 28th sept.. hee..
waaaaa!!! its been sooooo long since i last update the bloggy.. hee... plz forgive me wor... been ridiculously busy lately... :P *excuses* sorry la! ppl say sorry already, u still wan wad lor.. zzz... *ar bish*
k, essentially i've started work at UOB Jurong branch le.. its amazingly near my house - take 197 n then transfer to 154 n vvwaaala! 1 hr later i'm in the office.. :) looking on the bright side, it still beats having to get up at 5.30am everyday while i was serving my NS, so i'm actually pretty ok with it.
Week 1 was pretty monotoneous, greeted my CSM florence, who attached me to my tour guide for the day Kelly, and was eventually attached to Dini who babysit me for the rest of the week, before i went for my trg. I got to know a couple of the regular customers at the branch, there's the ppl who deliver bulk cash, some of the aunties who operate the minced meat noodle stall nearby, a very old uncle and a few more regulars whom Dini introed to me. :) i fiddled around with the casting calculator, helped out with some data entry n did a bit of consolidation n stuck my ever curious nose almost everywhere, n almost everytime i opened my mouth, "why?" would fly out.. Dini was really kind n was very patient with me n taught me almost everything that i need to know regarding current, savings and even touched a wee bit on fixed deposit.. which i was very glad because the observation week helped me assimilate more readily during the 7 days training.
The only thing i'm really upset about was the temperature of the branch... it was absolutely freezing!!! (k, i exaggerated again.. wadz new huh?) i happen to be a reptile, so i dun tolerate cold.. anywayz...
I caught up with wayne n daniel during training, they finally got into the UOB recreational club thingy n joined badminton. i passed as i'm afraid my astigmatism might get the better of me during the game n end up being shuttle cock fodder instead. >.<" lolz.. but aiyo, where got time for sports lor? :P mon need to sleep cos sunday sleep late, tues got care group, wed reherse songs if kena guitar, thurs bible study, fri join jac's care group, sat work half day, tired liao, go home sleep, sunday church... zzz... siao! where got time? lolz.. *excuses again* but its basically time management la. if i'm passionate about the sport, i'll create a haven in the midst of an insane schedule just to fit the game in. :)
well, i got to know 2 more new frens during the course who are staying in the same neighborhood - then come to think of it, both are senior officers.. lolz.. bukit merah so pro lor. :P Guz and Jamie. then Jamie shared the same dialect as me - Fu Zhou! or Fook Chow. For those of u wondering, think of Fu Zhou Yu Yuan lor.. and Fu Zhou is not the same as hokkien, so dun confuse urself.. anyway, it was really fun knowing jamie - same poly, same age, same dialect, same neighborhood.. hee.. COOL! then at least when i travel from tampines to home got someone to talk to lor.. otherwise the journey is so boring! kaoz! :P
yesterday was my first visit to alvin's care group, and it was really a blessed time, i reckon i was the youngest in the group (all of them look pretty much married / working for a long long time) so they were pretty kind towards me, offering me drinks, making me feel at home n at ease n stuff like that. :) so yea, it was very nice lor. Alvin was leading the duscussion on dengue fever, and what are we basing our faith upon. or putting it in other words, what is the basis for our faith. some of the tough questions were posed n answered, like God's protection upon Christians vs diseases n even sometimes death, a very thought provoking n enriching exercise lor.. to me it was pretty cool, cos theology tickle my fancy. :)
back to tampines - once jamie, alicia, wayne, daniel n myself were supposed to meet up for lunch together, but on that fateful day, i left my phone in my bag n my bag in the classroom. so the guys n gals got seperated n in the end jamie called my phone, n i didn't know (of course la... i'm not sun wukong wad.. got super hearing meh..), so in the end we spilt tables at century square. well, i learned that lesson alright.. so i made sure i bring my phone with me if the ladies are around.. lest we do the disappearing act again..
Some other news... Ruby is getting married (so many ppl got married.. Anthony, Laverne, Wee Keng & Wei Wei, Meng Fei & Candy, Desmond Pang, Wendy's expecting, n dunno who la..) and she's sending out the invites. i believe Jac's next in line, then probably can expect Alan's invite too.. :) the hong bao "bao buay liao" sia.. :) little eugene broke up with his gf (welcome to the bachelor club), jia qing got a job at suntec macdonalds, Estelle is going for the bangkok trip, little jessica's going to pri 1 next yr, dengue is on the rise, bird flu's coming back, and probably soon the cows will start to go crazy n geese will lay golden eggs.. zz.
