Batam trip!

31st May we had our branch outing at Batam, a day of makan, massage, shopping, medi / pedicures (for the ladies) and even more makan n shopping. :)

We took the 9.40 ferry from harborfront, reaching Batam at 10.40am.

Batam's coastline.

This shot was taken on board the ferry, nothing to do so take pictures lor. :)

Docking... At last!

We managed to get through the customs - well, almost all of us anyway. Lee Kheng's PP was valid for less than 6 months, so we had to bribe the custom fella before he let us through. Corrupted nation huh? I'm biased.

This is the whole bunch of us! 20 pax in all, 19 adults + 1 child. :)

We paid a visit to the local temple - some of us offered incense but for me, I just went to take a look, spoke in tongues, and chased away buddah. Wahahahaha!!

Interesting fountain of wealth - whose water has dried up. LOL..

People offering incense to the god (small "g") of this world... zzz...

Ever wondered how come buddah must be a fat guy? And then how come girls are crazy over muscular suave guys like david beckham? How come buddah doesn't look like beckham? Maybe ancient times girls are attracted to fat guys ba... LOL...

Some buddhist items for sale.

Yet another poorly tended fountain. People don't really take much pride in their objects of worship nowadays. Sigh..

Vivian n Alvin praying. :)

Me n my housing loan specialist. :)

Lunch time!!!! This is where we had our lunch. :)

The mad rush to wash up before eating.

Candid shot. :)

Look at the spread!!!! Man han quan xi!!!! :D

After the carnage...
I didn't take any photos of the massage place cos they didn't allow photography there. Anyway, I tried the full body massage, combination of thai n traditional. It hurts like crazy!!! lol... but damm shoik, it cost 90,000 rupiah, so its pretty cheap, considering the exchange rate is S$1 = 5750 Rupiah...

After which we went to the megamall for shopping, honestly the price there is comparable to the pricing in singapore, so i didn't buy anything. No point lah...

Following the megamall thingy, where some of us bought goodies, some bought donuts, some didn't buy anything, we went for dinner at windsor foodcourt.

Hungry, flustered, tired ppl. :)

Dinner was really good, though most of the dishes are spicy. There's chilli crab, prawns, spicy kangkong, hot plate tofu, spicy fish, coconut n carlsberg. hee.. Filling sia!

The moon was hidden behind the cloud, so none of us turned into werewolves that night...
