CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! doh...
Its the most.. wonderful time.. of the year!!!!!!!! yay!!! We were at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for sunday service.. I was ushering at the north west wing, wearing the CCIS t-shirt.. There was caroling (Mary did you know, Mary's boy child, Love's come down, We were the reason, O holy night, etc...) plus a dance item by the church dancers together with an exerpt from the Passion of the Christ movie. Pastor Prince blessed us with the message from Romans 8 - Therefore there is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus.. The sermon (or rather, the whole service) was so annointed - we saw at least 40-50 ppl respond during altar call.. Praise be to God!
Lunch was catered for us as we had to rush off immediately after service to orchard rd.. to close the road, to keep off pesky ah bengs from hopping over the barricades like a kangaroo on steriods, to do some last min christmas shopping.. :) lunch constisted of rice with chicken chop marinated in some weird sweet sauce and mini carrots and a piece of brocalli... dots.. After gobbling down all the makan, we (Paul, Jimmie, Louis n myself) pile into Gary's toyota and headed to orchard, where we overtook the floats on the expressway.
Eventually we ended up in wisma, had tea n toast n rendevous with Kenneth in front of wisma at ~2.30pm and since we have absolutely no idea what we're supposed to do, we were told to go shopping and come back in 2hrs. so? scatter lor..
4.30 - i went back to wisma after touring takashimaya, far east plaza n far east square.. and only Louis' wife was there.. :S Daniel went home - got something on, kenneth went home - his mom is going away, paul went home - he wants to bathe, jimmie disappeared - he can't be reached, fang ling was still shopping, and the rest is somewhere hidden in singapore. Eventually we're only left with fang ling, louis' wife n me.. zzz.. i, me, myself, father, son, holy spirit.. got 6 ppl per person.. Eventually Jeffery n Paul came back to join us, n we had macdonalds for dinner, courtesy of CCIS.. not very fantastic la.. only one fillet O fish, one mac-chicken, 6 piece nuggets n fish dippers.. honestly, its pretty filling..
After which we waited till 8pm for the prog to start. my job is to keep stupid (pardon me) ppl from sitting on the barricade and even (stupider) ppl from jumping over the barricades (cos inside are all the VIPs.. got the guest of honor BG George Yeo somemore). Wearing the orange t-shirt wasn't helpful at all, ppl think you're "just a volunteer" so they tend to ignore your courteous and kind plea for them to get down.. the CISCO guard was an entirely different matter - he just walk past can already - everyone automatically jump down from the barricade one.. then there's that stupid ah beng - jump over the barricade then the CISCO uncle scream at him "OEI!" his ball shrink and automatically jump, nono, scurried over the barricade.. zzz... cmi ah beng..
The performances were really cool, there was a 15 yr old gal who sang we were the reason, groups from all over the world came to perform - thailand, australia, taiwan, china, indonesia, i tink malaysia too.. it was a blast. The concert ended with Ferliz navidad, and of course, wishing everyone MERRY n BLESSED CHRISTMAS!
